Nights I’ll never remember, with friends I’ll never forget

Nights I’ll never remember, with friends I’ll never forget

We sat around the fire that night, each of us laughing and joking, remembering all the good times we’d had.

As was the norm, the names of the past began to be spoken, each flowing from our lips in a melancholy manner.  But this time it was different; this time it was the good times we’d had.  All the awkward hunting moments, the strange death scenes, the naked runs across town to retrieve lost belongings.

The Bardess laughed and lifted her cup to her lips, a smile crossing her face.  Even the stone faced, always dour Tog Barbarian, had a smile, his crooked and malformed jaw showing far too few teeth.

So, this was friendship.  Something I felt I had been lacking over the last few years.

I don’t remember much else of my One Hundred Twentieth birthday.  But I remember the feeling of comraderie, something I felt I’d long lost.
