Evil Fog, Undead befouls the Crossings!

377 years, 364 days since the Victory

It started out like a normal day in Zoluren. The Snerts were being snerts, Vibrato was raffling off his forged weapons. I was busy improving my skills when my sergeant, Eusscorpious ran up to me, and joined my group. I noticed she was in full battle armor and panting. “Undead! All over the North of the Crossings”, she cried…Immediately, I headed north with Sergeant Eusscorpious to investigate. What I witnessed estounded me…

An ominous fog rolled in throughout the northern part of the town, making it difficult to tell which direction one moved. I noticed as I entered this foggy area, my spirit felt quite heavy. A momentary fear gripped me, but I knew I had to steel myself for my soldier.

We trudged further into this area, when I saw them! Spectral, ethereal, and menacing, a group of spectral sailors, pirates, and death spirits were slaying my townsmen, the guards, and anyone with a beating heart that approached them. Even as I entered the scene, a group of squires was dragging away several dead town guards.

Charge I shouted, drawing my sword and engaging a sailor. I tingled it’s weapon and shield out of it’s hand and lashed it repeatedly. The blessings of the Cleric Necimar, known as the Hand of Urrem’tier on my blade, it rended the sailor’s evil, cursed spirit from this land.

As I turned on the next, one then two bolts from the crossbow of a death spirit hit my body. I turned on the spirit, prepared to engage it when one of the sailors gave a hearty laugh and pointed at me! My body was bound by spectral seaweed!

It was then that I noticed the true danger: The fog I had forgotten about was actually sucking the spirit of those in the area! I felt the last vestiges of my spirit being pulled away, but fortunately (depending on one’s point of view), the spirits finished me off before my spirit could flee my body entirely.

I warn all those reading this story: Be wary of any fog you might see in this dark and dangerous time.
